John France is CCF's current pastoral elder and has been in the church since 1971. In that time John has tackled a number of topics, recording more than 100 talks amongst which are 5 main series: Image Bearers, The Presence of God, Money, A Better Word and John's verse-by-verse look at Colossians. John has also contributed to a number of our other main series such as Discipleship and Work Out Your Salvation.
John hails from Huddersfield, Yorkshire where he picked up his love of the railways. He moved South, working on Southern Regions railways where he was saved in 1969. Having met up with Roger, John joined the Fellowship in 1971 not long after it has started. It was here that he met his future wife, Beryl Redman, the couple giving us our first Fellowship wedding in 1972. Recognising John's continuing maturity and love for the Body, he was made an elder in 1975, on his 25th birthday.

John continued to work locally, gaining valuable experience on the shop floor and in management before taking on a full time pastoral role in CCF in 1984. John's teaching ministry continued to grow and he found himself more and more in demand as a speaker, with an ever growing back catalogue of studies. He has now recorded over 100 talks which contain 5 main series.
In addition to his growing ministry, John's family continues to grow with the recent birth of grandchild number three (to go along with their three, now grown up, children). John's youngest son, Andrew, is also one of our ministers and himself is due to get married at the end of April.
