Bill's talks are very much like the man himself: down-to-earth yet challenging. Bill has seen firsthand the power of God to heal body, mind and spirit and has spend many years using his knowledge and experience in counselling others. Bill has recorded a number of studies over the years on this theme as well as contributing to a number of our main series, such as the Conference Workshop series, and the Discipleship Course

Bill was born and brought up in Devon, with farming the family business. However, rather than follow in his father's footsteps, Bill became an electrician in the Royal Navy. It was there that Bill's health took a down-turn and he was eventually invalided out with asthma.

However, God had different plans. Bill was touched by the Lord's healing power in a meeting at about the age of fourty-eight, quickly becoming healthier than when he was in his twenties.

Bill faced many difficulties in the time to come but it was these circumstances that brought Bill to the Lord. Feeling desperate Bill called a Christian friend of his and went to stay with him for about three months. It was there that he gave his heart to the Lord.

The Lord then started to turn Bill's circumstances around quite miraculously, finding him a very good job in a new town and before too long Bill met Denise, the lady who would become his wife. Not that long after joining a house group and being baptised in the Spirit, Bill heard of a small group meeting in Chichester. He started to attend regularly, buying a house much closer to the Fellowship, and by the end of the seventies Bill was made an elder.

He also developed a love for counselling and was able to understand the pain and anquish that many people had and were going through. At the same time, dealing with redundancy meant that Bill and the family were living a very active life of faith - the Lord showing that He was ready and willing to supply. Very often Bill's diary would be booked two month's ahead with counselling appointments.

These days, Bill can be found working again as a design engineer in underwater systems and is part of a small group of Christians worshipping in Chichester. Somethings don't change however, and his character is the same as ever: down-to-earth, warm, friendly and supportive yet nonetheless wonderfully challenging. He and his wife Denise have two grown up children and three grandchildren from them as well as Bill's three daughters and grandchildren from his first marriage.
